What Is SEO?

SEO means Search Engine Optimization. In short, SEO refers to all the work that goes into optimizing your website to rank better on search engines. Since Google gets 95% or more of all web searches, typically SEO is directed toward the Google algorithms and robot “crawlers”.

Google regularly and automatically “crawls” the internet for new information. It takes a few seconds to crawl and sort my entire website, and it’s always happening behind the scenes. Without any optimization Google will still crawl my website and try to piece together what it’s about. These crawlers, however, follow certain guidelines for ranking the information on my site, from important to extraneous. My job is to point to the most important information, and optimize my site so that Google will see the same value that I do!

This is done through keyword research and implementation (using valuable keywords and key phrases appropriately throughout your site), site speed (the faster your site, the more valuable it is to Google), meta tagging (adding keyword-rich descriptions into the header tags in the code of your site), inner linking (making a network of text links throughout your site), and design.

Optimized design makes more and more difference as Google continues to prioritize sites with better speed and bounce rate (the percentage of users leaving your page immediately).

When we work together, I’ll help you optimize your site so that it can move more effectively up the Google rankings amongst your target audience.
